* From midnight EDT tonight through Friday afternoon
* tropical depression 3 has just been upgraded to Tropical Storm
Bonnie and is located about 425 nm southeast of Miami. This
tropical system will move through the Keys on Friday. Expected
rainfall totals later tonight through Friday will be around 2 to
4 inches with isolated areas up to 6 inches. The grounds are
near saturation due to the rainfall accumulated since may. There
is some uncertainty in the track and intensity, and this could
change the rainfall amounts across the area.
* Some street and low lying flooding can be expected later
tonight and Friday. There is a possibility for significant
flooding with the possibility of roads becoming impassable and
flood waters entering structures.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.
You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.

there is little chance for hurricane conditions at this time.
Also...the chance for tropical storm conditions at this time
ranges from 40 to 55 percent over Miami-Dade and Collier counties,
and between 30 and 40 percent in Broward County. This represents
a general upward trend since the last forecast.
...Winds...
as Tropical Storm Bonnie approaches...sustained tropical storm
force winds are expected to begin late Friday afternoon. Maximum
winds are forecast to be in the 30 to 40 mph range with gusts to
60 mph.
These winds represent a limited threat to life and property.
Minor to moderate damage may occur to older Mobile homes,
especially those that are unanchored. A few houses may have minor
damage to roof shingles and siding. These winds are capable of
damaging carports, awnings, pool cages and Lanai screens.
Unsecured lightweight items will be blown around, possibly
causing additional damage. Winds will become dangerous on bridges
and causeways, especially for high profile vehicles.
Some electrical wires will be blown down, and isolated to
scattered power outages are likely, especially in areas with
above ground lines.
Most newly planted trees and shrubs will be damaged or uprooted.
Small branches and numerous small twigs will break off trees.
Many Palm fronds will be blown down.
